To recover Windows 98 boot, you may have saved boot sector in a bootsect.w98
file with the tool saveboot.bat (like explained in MULTIBOOT
page).
If you don't have a saving of the boot sector, Jean-Claude Bellamy proposes some for Dos 6.22, Windows 95 and Windows NT4.
I've also gathered utilities saveboot, restboot with
debug and my bootsect.620 .w95 and .w98
in bootsect.zip for download.
saveboot.bat , restboot.bat and bootsect.w98
in root C:\ (and debug.exe if needed)C:\ saveboot bootsect.nowC:\ restboot bootsect.w98C:\ sys c: e:
in my case (a message impossible to copy COMMAND.COM is displayed,
we don't care)C:\ restboot bootsect.now
