2. Articles: DVD to DVD copying
With prices of DVD burners and media coming down rapidly, many
people will get interested how to copy a DVD to a DVD-R/-RW/+R/+RW.
We published three articles in our series on DVD to DVD copying. In
our library, in the section Techniques, you will find our article DVD
to DVD copying which will explain the basics. The issues that may
prevent a direct DVD to DVD copying are discussed, the data structure
on DVD's is explained and a number of methods for DVD copying are shown.
Our Guide DVD
copying with IfoEdit shows you step by step how to copy a DVD using
the freeware program IfoEdit.
Remove
unwanted items and make it fit on one DVD-R/-RW/+R/+RW or distribute
it over two discs. And in our Reviews section you will find a review
of one of the first commercial programs on the market for DVD to DVD
copying, DVDXCopy
from 321Studios. We are planning more articles about DVD copying and
labDV will report about exciting new tools appearing on the market.
3. labDV Hosting Program
Third party sites hosted by labDV are now free access. Through the
DVDx home page you
can access the FAQ section for DVDx.
Sefy's Complete
DVD backup Guide is completely renewed and is now version 2.1. The
VCDWizard site
is also renovated and contains everything you need to know to create
(S)VCD's using freeware tools. New in our hosting program is Leon's
Lab. His pages were on Wanadoo.fr, but with their poor performance,
Leon has decided to join the labDV hosting program. (also available
in French)
4. Review: The Sony DRU500A
Why
choose a DVD burner that is limited to burn only one or two types of
recordable DVD media? LabDV is proud to be the first review of the world's
first DVD burner, the Sony DRU500A, that is able to burn all recordable
DVD media: -R, -RW, +R and +RW. The burner is very versatile and it's
performance is impressive. It is shipped with a wealth of software:
Veritas RecordNow and DLA packet writing for recording, Sonic MyDVD
for authoring and burning DVD-Video, Veritas Simple Backup for system
backup disaster recovery, PowerDVD DVD-playing software and Musicmatch
for organizing and playing your personal audio. For a retail price of
just under $350 this DVD burner sets the standard for the future.
5. Menu changes on labDV
