2. New tutorial: Backup DVD or Blu-ray disc to ISO image
Load a disc, DVDx 4.1 analyzes its content and calculates required space on hard-drive to perform the backup:
Blu-ray (and HD-DVD) disc ISO backup job
Blu-ray disc ISO backup job performs decrypting to hard-drive (so was required space calculated) and then generates an ISO image file:
Blu-ray disc (or HD-DVD disc) ISO backup takes about 1 hour.
DVD disc ISO backup job
DVD disc ISO backup job creates, first, an encrypted ISO image file (so any modern protections have no effect :-), then explodes the ISO image in a folder to perform decrypting for every VOB files (DeCSS) and, last, generates an ISO image file:
DVD disc ISO backup (with decrypting) takes about 40 minutes for a dual-layer disc (DVD9) and less than 1/2 hour for DVD5 (4.5GB).
